Centrul Vechi has a few very nice shops that you shouldn’t miss. From cutting edge boutique shops, to designer jewelery, niche perfumery or vintage shops, here’s a list of my favorite spots for shopping.
Prescription. This hip boutique has a clear approach towards club culture, almost a concept store. You will find brands like Religion, ASH, Prescription, Dimensione Danza and a lovely staff that will guide you the a really cool outfit. If glam rock it’s your style, you shouldn’t miss a visit at Prescription. (Gabroveni Str no 9)
Hobirama, a nonconformist, playful, designed shop with brands that you cannot find anywhere else. The faithful customers of the shop are tired of the mass market brands and do not seek the approval of a company focused on the trends imposed by the media or supermarkets. At Hobirama you will find Brands like: Masnada, Barbara i Gongini, Best Behavior, Album di Famiglia, Rundholz, Novemb3r, R13.
Minimalist cuts, “antifashion” sneakers, deconstructivist design and neutral colors or non-colors, this is the world of Hobirama. (Lipscani street no 63-65, intr Hanul cu Tei)
HayHuy is an opportunity to travel through a world that it’s not lost yet in plastic and glitter. Hayhuy is the pleasure to rustle in natural materials like cotton, linen, wool, silk, leather and rare stones – all prices themselves or workmanship. Most cloths are from India, Thailand, mostly ethnic design. (Gabroveni Str corner with Lipscani Str)
David Sandu is perhaps the best contemporary Romanian jeweler. He’s a supplier of the Romanian Royal House, a recognition that came naturally if you look at his works. The jewels created by him are unique and based on a concept, a clear idea of the artist. It addresses people who are not only open to dialogue, but a dialogue-dependent. There are those people who do not swallow conventions for granted. (Smardan Str no 30, first floor)
Hippie Hippie Shake is and was a trend-setter as it is one of the first stores in Bucharest were we could find different kind of cloths, the cloths that gave us the option to “get out of the herd”. As you enter, you see the multitude of things waiting to be explored. From hiding pimples skirts to walls adorned with necklaces and bracelets created manually in exotic countries such as India, Afghanistan and Indonesia.
Hippie Hippie Shake means colorful, unique, eclectic. (Lipscani Str no 63-65, intr Hanul cu Tei)
