Best restaurants in Romana Areea

Romana area is a vibrant part of the city center. We selected a list of our favorite restaurants in the area, from exclusive and expensive ones to the hip but not so expensive ones.

Gargantua Inn the Park

Gargantua Inn the Park

Gargantua Inn the Park it’s situated down town Bucharest, in the middle of beautiful Gradina Icoanei Park. The food is absolutely delicious, mostly Mediterranean cuisine, try fried calamari with tzatziki sauce, or the desert which is a killer for any diet! (Jean-Louis Calderon Str no. 69, $$)

5 Elemente

5 Elemente

5 Elemente is close to Gradina Icoanei, behind Magheru Boulevard. This is not a red lampoons, small waterfall and smelly air Chinese restaurant. At 5 Elemente you get a very classy and modern restaurant where everything Chinese is subtle. The design is very modern, the staff really nice and the food absolutely amazing! It has been voted the best Chinese restaurant in town! ( Icoanei Str no 15, $$)

gradina verona

Gradina Verona

Gradina Verona is located on a perpendicular street of Magheru Boulevard. It’s basically a gorgeous terrace of Carturesti Library. You will find a bohemian atmosphere, the garden is amazing, with lots of plants and trees, they have hammocks and dogs are welcome. Bikes too. They have a number of vegan and vegetarian options but sometimes it is fish or any type of meat. (Pictor Arthur Verona Str no 13-15, $)

The Gang

The Gang

The Gang is a high end international fusion cuisine. They have three chefs from Thailand, Nepal and Indonesia to create delights from Asia, USA and the Mediterranean area. You can enjoy the sophisticated, cozy and friendly restaurant while taking a peek look at the tables around. For sure you will find politicians, important businessman or the starlets of Bucharest. (Alecu Russo Str no 4, $$$)

Sangria Restaurant

Sangria. This is one of my favorite restaurant in the area. It’s not just the food that is great here, which it is! They have really good Mediterranean cuisine. The atmosphere is lovely, with palm trees inside the restaurant and retractable roof. Feels like a Spanish courtyard in Bucharest downtown. (Caderea Bastiliei Str no 78, $$)

the embassy

The Embassy

The Embassy Club is the ideal place to hide in the summer. At the Embassy you will find a nice garden as you enter, lovely chill music and very good cocktails. They serve food as well but not more than pizza, pastas and salads. Packed with expats and young people, kind of place were you find “see and be seen” type of people. (Piata Lahovari no 8, $$)

Acuarela – this bohemian bistro has been created with a passion for beloved pieces of the past, refurbished objects and artworks collected over the years. It creates an informal community for the artists, a cozy space where people share their passion for art and joy of life. If you want to spend some quality time, away from posh glittered world, Acuarela is the perfect place! (Polona Str no 40, $)

$ – close to market prices
$$ – regular prices
$$$ – have all the cards with you
$$$$ – good bye piggy bank
