Garana Jazz Festival, takes place every year since 1997 in July or August, in the Garana Village (150 km by car from Timisoara airport.It is a magical place, hidden in the heart of the Western Carpathians. The small village has developed, during the last decades, into an international artist colony hosting, for the 18th time this year, Europe’s only open-air jazz festival, a kind of contemporary Woodstock. Instead of diminishing its appeal, the capricious climate and the special location seem to increase the ambition of the participants to belong to the “chosen,” if not few, ones. Throughout its relatively short history, the festival has featured an impressive lineup of high-class artists —including Jan Garbarek, Mike Stern, Eberhard Weber, Charles Lloyd, Jean Luc Ponty, Lars Danielsson, becoming one of the most significant musical events of its kind, attended by thousands of jazz lovers who travel each summer to the mountains, ignoring the risk of rain and the chilly nights.
Electric Castle Festival had its first edition on the 21–23 June 2013 in Banffy Castel, an architectonic Baroque monument situated in Bontidaa village, next to Cluj-Napoca city. More than 32.000 people passed through the festival’s gates over those 3 days . The 4 stages were crowded with over 90 artists, to namea few: Die Antwoord, Thievery Corporation, Bonobo, Gramaick, Dub FX, Chris Liebing, Kraak and Smaak, Foreign Beggars or Dub Pistols. This is for sure, one of the biggest music festivals in that part of the country.
Stufstock is an event initiated by movement Save Vama Veche, the sea side resort. The desire to preserve the original spirit of Vama Veche, fighting against invasion of commercial projects (hotels, restaurants, bars, terraces etc.) that are constructed by the beach. Stufstock has had its first edition in 2003 and became one of the biggest rock festivals in Eastern Europe with bands like Cradle of Filth, Toy Dolls, The Dandy Warhols, Defunkt, Kultur Shock, Air Ttaffic, Farfarello, dEUS, Apocalyptica, atracting over 10.000 people.
